Lots of excitement!

WOW what a week, 96 year old Grandma fell & broke a bone in her hip, but true to fashoin she is handling it all with a smile!  Went through 2 hours of surgery & asked for her wig in the recovery room!  What a lady!  Dave & I went to see Skylar in her first musical, The Wind & the Willows & she did great.  It was a very enjoyable evening & PHS has a very talented drama club.  The lights went down & Dave said is it over, I said I hope not!  Am going again this evening with grandparents and aunts.  Skylar is in her glory!  Ryan has a possible new girlfriend, I will be meeting her tomorrow at the musical.  Busy times, family times HAPPY TIMES!

Bumps in the road

Well, my Granny is now in the nursing home.  She has been there for a week, thinks it is the hospital, but is getting along better than we expected.  Of course she always wants to go home..."Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home"  ... She says this almost everytime I visit with her.  She is 85 years old today.  Happy Birthday to my little Granny, one of the smallest in statue but larger than life people I have ever met.  My brother said the other day that Granny is the strongest person he has ever known!

Also some other sad news my childrens's Grandmother passed away last evening after suffering from lung cancer. Carol was a fun person to be around and  it makes me sad to think of the pain & suffering she has went through.  Please keep us in your prayers!

Callie is here!

We have a new puppy!  She is absolutely beautiful.  She is 8 weeks old and was so good her first night home with us.  She is a tri-colored Cavalier King Charles .  We wanted her to have a name befitting her beauty so here it goes Callidora - meaning gift of beauty-  we will call her Callie.  Her full name will be Corinth's Callidora Clutter!  Sweeite wasn't so sure at first now they have licked & smelled each other that they want to play.  Of course we have to be very careful as Sweeite is 68 pounds and Callie is probably 4lbs.  She has a vet visit scheduled for Saturday.  I will post pictures this evening.  Last night we were just too busy settling in!

September ends

Wow... Fall weather is surely here, our high yesterday was 49 & windy.  The leaves have already changed quite a bit and there is a definite chill in the air.  We need some more dry weather to cut more firewood to stay warm this winter!!!  Everyone has been saying that this is going to be a bad winter, I guess we will have to wait & see.  Thinking of getting another puppy and have been watching the shelter's & petfinder for that special one.  Skylar has her tryouts for the 1st musical of the year at high school, I sure hope she makes it!  Ryan is doing pretty good with college, but still needs to get a better job.  He will be moving after the 1st sememster to Hagerstown, where his Dad got a new job.  I am going to see him today, he does not have classes.  I sure do miss my little boy with the golden curls...  He is telling me not to worry, but one day he will understand when he is a parent.  Granny was up with me Sunday & Tuesday and I put a puzzle up and we enjoyed talking & working on it.  Sweetie was so gentle with Granny & Granny seemed to enjoy petting & talking to her. I feel so bad for my little Granny, she will probably be going to the nursing home next month.  I hope she can adjust & my Mom too.  Next week is Autumn Glory Festival, I sure hope it is nice for that.  Well off to the shower & warm clothes!

The good and the bad

I haven't been blogging for a while. Several things have happened. Some good like a few sales at work, 5 days at Virginia Beach and some very sad. Our little dog Inky got hit by a car on August 8th and died. He was so stubborn. We live 750 feet off of the road in the woods and it was dark and he went outside to sit with my hubby and then decided to go exploring. It was a terrible loss and we are still missing our little "Inky Stinky", he was a happy full of life little dog so that is how I am remembering him & did I mention stubborn!?!??? Ryan start college tomorrow and Skylar starts high school Wednesday, where did my little babies go to?? I am very fortunate to have such great kids.

Where has the summer gone?

July 23rd already. We have not had much summer. Lots of rain and cooler temperatures. My daughter & niece are usually nice & tan and have spent many hours in their grandparents pool. It has just been to cold! had a very nice visit with relatives from Myrtle Beach last week as well as cousins from Pennsylvania. Grandma had a visit from her youngest child today... that would be my Dad. She had been to the doctors and had a great check up. She is 96 years old and is so sweet. She still likes to help dry the dishes and just really loves her family. We have had another visitor to our home lately a big raccoon & last night he brought his wife & three babies!!!!!! We really do enjoy living in the woods. I have been showing a lot of property lately and everyone always says how beautiful our WV mountains are. Closed on a house this week to a miltary family. Very nice folks and husband will soon have 30 years of service to our country. I thanked him for his service & also thanked his wife. I am sure it would be hard having a spouse gone for 6 months at a time. I wish him well on his next tour, he will be going to the coast of Afghanistan. I am also trying my hand at Facebook. Maybe I met up with some old friends! Took the girls to a petting zoo last week and enjoyed the lions & tigers & bears. They even had their picture taken with a 7 1/2 week old baby lion. She was so sweet. Well that's it for now. Hope all is well in blog land! Best wished to all.

I can't believe that the 4th of July is almost here. Where has the summer gone?? Where has the summer been. We've had soooo much rain & then hot humid weather, our woods look like tropical forest with ferns as tall as me. It is really pretty. Hope everyone in blogland is enjoying a nice summer.

Skylar & Dad both had birthdays, Mother Day, Skylar's drama play & chorus recital, Ryan's graduation!!!!!!!!!!! this week is crazy too, DC trip with Skylar's 8th grade glass, 8th grade graduation & her dance recital. I will need a week to catch up! Our woods are finally all green again, some of the ferns are almost up to my shoulders, they are beautiful. We've had so much rain & cooler temps but it sure does make things lush. Hopefully I'll get some pictures soon. Ryan is in Ocean City with his friends an of course this Mom is a little worried, but he has been taught well and knows what is right, I just hope it sticks with it! That's it for now.

April 4, 2009 Haven't been blogging much, work has been busy & when we had a day or so of nice weather I was working outside. Very cold & windy this morning but we are supposed to get up in the 50's this afternoon. Ryan received his cap & gown for graduation and his acceptance letter for college~WOW! Skylar has her classes for her first year in high school & can't wait. I am very happy that I have healthy growing children but boy did it make me sad to see how grownup they are getting! I planted some daffodils last year & they are coming up nicely, can't wait for them to bloom. Last saturday we had a little tea party with Granny, Skylar & Lexi. The girls even put on dresses! It was fun and we drank from antique china cups & had strawberry shortcake. Skylar asked that we light the taper candles so we did. What fun :) Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday.

Sunday, March 1, 2009

Today we had a gathering at our house for my Mom's birthday. I prepared a lasagna dinner with allof the fixings and we had a nice birthday cake too. Inky my little dog was very happy to have all of the company but when we brought the big girl, Sweetie in he went to the other room. Sweetie just had to sit with Mom & Dad. She is such a loving addition to our family. I cannot believe anyone would have mistreated her, but they did. She came to us when she was 7 months old, with a skin infection and almost all the way around her neck was raw. We all love her vey much, except for Inky! He was the ruler of the house for 7 years and he still doesn't like to share. She is about 1 1/2 now and very sweet and loving. My whole family loves dogs. I am so happy to have mine. Inky came from the pound when he was 7 weeks old. We did get a little snow last night and cold temperatures today...

Thanks to everyone!!!

Easter Fun

I have so many wonderful memories of going to church on Easter Sunday with my family. We always got new Easter dresses and pocketbooks. Up to open Easter baskets on the kitchen table and then getting ready for church and hearing of God's resurrection!. My little brother who loved food, always had trouble keeping away from the sweets before church. After church we had big dinners and when we were really young all got together at Grandma Landon's for Easter egg hunts that lasted the whole day or so it seemed! Visiting with out of state cousins and having lots of fun!

Winter memories

Added some pictures today. They are from winter 2009 & 2010. Some beautiful pictures from our area and of course my kids , furry ones too. We actually saw some sunshine today but are under another weather advisory until tommorrow afternoon. All I can say is it sure is white & cold!

Hope you all are staying safe & warm

Happy New Year

The New Year has come in with a vengance!!!! We have about 3 1/2 ft of snow on top of ice & old snow & it is still coming down. It seems like a real old fashoined winter. The holidays came and went. It just didn't seem like Christmas this year. Family problems, Grandma' s in the nursing homes.... I sure hope that 2010 will be better. I am very thankful for the blessings in my like & struggle with the other. I found this on the web yesterday & loved it I hope this is the Prayer for 2010

~ Christ be the Love of thy year! Mayest thou love him and all thou has art, May he love thee still more with His Great Heart, Each grow to each more intimate and dear; Christ be thy Love this year! Wishing All a Peaceful & Tranquil 2010 with lots of LOVE!
Bless us Lord, this Christmas, with quietness of mind; Teach us to be patient and always to be kind." -- Helen Steiner

Happy Birthday Ryan - March 9th, 2009

At 8:33 pm this evening my son will be exactly 18 years old! I just cannot believe it. He weighed 7 lbs 12.6 ounces and was 21 inches long. I was amazed and quite overwhelmed with my wide eyed little boy. We have went through the Barney days, Power Ranger, BatMan & Spiderman, trick bikes, lots & lots of basketball and now girls!!!!! I love my son very much and am very pround of him. My little boy with the golden curls has turned into a very handsome young man.

How will March arrive

I always remember bulletin boards at school with lambs and lions when it comes to March. I wonder which way March will arrive..... The weatherman says snow flurries on Saturday so I am thinking in like a lion!
