I am so very proud of my handsome young man! Skylar just finished up playing the role of Queenie in Honk the Musical, it was a cute show, now getting ready for Prom, Show Choir Concert, MTE show & West of Broadway, busy busy girl! Have been helping out with Lil Jeffery about once a week, boy is he a workout! Enjoy every minute of it though. Still miss my Sweet little Granny every day, still can't believe she is gone. Happy Spring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Vintage Clutterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06103279672846659932noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5719744674694471335.post-60708226534264223482012-01-20T13:34:00.000-05:002012-01-20T13:34:21.899-05:00Loss of My Sweet GrannyI am writing with a heavy heart. On Sunday, January 15th our sweet little earth angel Granny went to heaven to be an Angel. Thankfully she went very peacefully in her sleep. Skylar & I had a nice visit with her on Saturday, I fixed her hair and we laughed a little and the last thing we said to one another a "I Love You", when my Dad called Sunday morning about 6am and told me that Granny had passed I was shocked. she in the past has been so sick and had so many surgeries and those were the times when we thought we would lose her but she always came fighting back. I am still in a bit of shock. My sister, brother , kids, nieces & nephews had the BEST GRANNY ever, she was the most fun little lady to be around and her home was always as open and loving as her heart was. I just can't imagine a life without my Granny in it! Rest in Peace Pollyanna King Stottlemeyer, I love you forever!Vintage Clutterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06103279672846659932noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5719744674694471335.post-70268671414776507612011-12-02T14:02:00.000-05:002011-12-02T14:02:06.459-05:00DecemberChristmas time is here~ House is decorated, need to do some baking & wrapping. Autumn glory Festival is this weekend in Oakland and it will be a chilly 52 degrees which will be fine if it doesn't rain. Cooler temperatures in the evenings now and sleeping with the windows open again! Can't believe it is back to school time, Skylar starts back to school next week and Ryan back to college in a few weeks. I sure do miss my little kids. I am very happy that they are growing up healthy and becoming independant but I sure do miss my little ones!
Have been enjoying the deer, raccoons & birds at the house. the bear only made one appearance so far, hopefully he has moved on, very beautiful creature but when I can see him just outside my hearth room window, that's a little to close for comfort!Vintage Clutterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06103279672846659932noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5719744674694471335.post-3196643889167408692011-07-30T14:53:00.001-04:002011-07-30T14:56:20.646-04:00Hot days of SummerWe have been having a regular heat wave, kinda unusual for us to be in the 90's & high humidity. I am still ot complaining because just around the corner Ole Jack Frost is waiting for us! Had a nice Landon family reunion this month & have been enjoying relaxing & grilling on the covered from porch. What a sweet, generous man he was. His smile and love of life will be missed greatly. He had military closing at the service and it was a very emotional thing to see these wonderful men & women in ther 70's & 80's dressed in uniform, still serving their country and saluting their commrade. School is out, renters are in and summer is drifting by. Had some beautiful peaceful walks with my doggies in the woods. Hubby & I went for a walk Wednesday & I actually have a few volunteer pansies coming up in a put, that little green leaf peeping out from the snow was a wonderful site! I know that we will have more cold weather & I am suer a lttle more snow but this few days of sunshine gives out could hearts hope! Watched a good one with Sissy Spacek in it called Hard Promise & then the Hallmark Hall of Fame with Betty White, what a tear jerker. Sure did make me think about how I would feel if one of my loved ones was MIA and I didn't know what happened to them. I am sending out "Good Thoughts" to all who have endured this pain.Vintage Clutterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06103279672846659932noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5719744674694471335.post-20024814910385940722011-01-27T11:47:00.000-05:002011-01-27T11:47:41.515-05:00Another Snow DayWow we just keeping getting that white stuff! We have not seen grass in months it seems like. The snow that fell all day & night is a beautiful wet snow, yesterday it looked like someone was sifting powdered sugar from the sky. I would say we got about 2 ft of snow this time. Sure hope it quites. Skylar has an audition for the Governers School for the Arts on Saturday and it is an hour and one half away, we don't need bad weather on top of nervousness! I have been taking pictures of the snow & each time I do I think of my sweet little Grandma Landon, she lived 57 years in her house before moving in with her daughter & each winter she would take pictures of the snow on her pine trees. She always said that when everything was snow covered and pure white everyone's house looked pretty, no one 's home looked poor & sad. I sure do miss her & I guess I always will. Had a wonderful Sunday evening watching the Steelers win the AFC Championship & watching little Jeffery clapping & cheering made it even better! Well hope everyone is warm & safe & please can we have some sunshine!?! :)Vintage Clutterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06103279672846659932noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5719744674694471335.post-88445199701689932032011-01-21T11:15:00.000-05:002011-01-21T11:15:46.552-05:00Another Snowy week for JanuaryWell, the kids are off school yet again because Old Man Winter is letting us have it! Snowy & blowing & cold, that about sums it up! Hubby put my new exercise bike together last night & I rode 2 miles. My goal is to do 2-5 miles a day, shouldn't be to hard in the evening when I am watching TV, but we shall see... wish me luck. Looking forward to the Steelers game on Sunday, may go down and watch it with my Dad.... My little Granny still has that spark in her eyes and I am content that she is living a comfortable life. Then I went and enjoyed my sweet, entergetic & onery little great nephew.

Ada Alice Landon born April 29, 1913 was a joyous little lady. I had the privelege of growing up with Grandma & Grandpa just down the hill from where I lived. Oh how Grandma loved the “kiddies” She was a hard worker and wonderful caregiver. Grandma had a wonderful relationship with God. She talked of Sunday dinners at the Hostetler farm with missionaries after church. From an early age Grandma followed the Lord. Her Daddy was a minister. Grandma enjoyed most Love of God & Love of Family, especially her Angels!.
Even in her 90’s she was full of life & volunterring at the Apple Butter Festival. Grandma was a saver, I loved going through her drawers of treasures with her, she had silk from Korea, trinkets from all over the world that Uncle Wayne, Uncle Harold, Uncle Ralph & Uncle Richard had sent to her when they were in the service, dishes from her Aunt Lilly & Mother, baby dolls from Germany where Uncle Wayne was stationed, tatted lace from Grandma Landon, jewelry from her sister Ruth. What fun I had upstairs with my Grandma. She even still had letters from Grandpa that she had kissed & sent over seas to him when he was in the Army. As I grew up and phone calls were made, Grandma would never say good-bye, it was always Goodnight. When the love of her life died, Grandma was saddened but decided that Grandpa was not gone , just away visitng, so I will think the same as Grandma, for I know she is away in a wonderful place, I know that she was welcomed into the gates of Heaven and is reuniting with her loved one there. I was miss my little Grandma but know that she is only away. I love you Grandma, for your kindness, love, understanding and love of life. I know that I am a better person for having you in my life.
